Welcome to our blog which shares the learning and celebrates the successes of our amazing Year 5 and 6 learners in Room 10 from 2014-2016. We are part of the Manaiakalani cluster in Panmure, Auckland, and have taken huge pleasure in sharing our digital learning journey over this time. Kia ora!

MAD Messenger
How do we see ourselves? How do we feel about ourselves? A special visitor, the MAD Messenger, came to talk to Rooms 9 and 10 today to share some stories and personal experiences. We read some quotes to inspire us. We shared positive words to support each other. We watched this talented artist create an incredible superhero drawing.
We are unique. We are great. We can be successful.

Let's work together!
As well as working together to solve problems during Maths, we are learning to work together as we create our skipping display.

Kawa of care
We were reminding ourselves about how we look after our Chromebooks today. This is our Kawa of Care. We had a visitor in Room 10, as well as Mrs Grant, supporting us to create a comic collage using Google Drawings. Miss Campbell was visiting from Greymouth (on the west coast of the South Island) to find out about our Manaiakalani digital learning journey.

What a racquet!
Today we enjoyed our second session learning badminton skills with Danny from Kiwisport. After practising our forehand and backhand grips, it was time for some delicate net shots with a buddy. Hitting the shuttlecock softly is more difficult than it looks!

Talking about Maths
As well as helping each other to be Cybersmart in Room 10, we are learning to co-operate when we are solving maths problems. We try to listen carefully to each other when we are working with a buddy or in a group so we can understand there are different ways to solve a problem.
