Welcome to our blog which shares the learning and celebrates the successes of our amazing Year 5 and 6 learners in Room 10 from 2014-2016. We are part of the Manaiakalani cluster in Panmure, Auckland, and have taken huge pleasure in sharing our digital learning journey over this time. Kia ora!

Ka kite āpōpō
Look who Miss Ginders and I caught up with at the Matariki Light Trail at Maybury Reserve last night!
And, as Matariki and Māori Language Week come to an end, our new Te kupu o te wiki (Word of the Week) is heihei.
Ka kite āpōpō!

Tartan and thistles ... where are we heading?
Neither Muller nor Messi could score a goal in the FIFA world cup final. The one and only goal was scored by Mario Gotze for Germany in extra time. Such excitement!
I'm sure you are excited about coming back to school next week for Term 3. We will be changing our inquiry topic for the term. Our new topic relates to these photographs. Have you any ideas what we might be learning about?

Messi or Muller?
There are only a couple of days until the FIFA World Cup final which will be played between Germany and Argentina. Who is going to win? We talked about the competing countries, and found some of them on the globe and in an atlas.
If you are looking for things to do during these wet and windy holidays, you could find out some information about Germany or Argentina, such as: capital city, its flag, national colours, leader (prime minister or president?), a famous landmark, favourite food dish/meal, famous footballers, world cup history.
Don't forget to check out Studyladder, too. There are some new activities to try.
