Weather wins 1-0

Although the sun was shining, the Year 5/6 soccer team were feeling a little sad this morning because the interschool tournament was cancelled for the second time due to the weather.  The weather forecast was spot on, though, as the wind and rain did arrive in the middle of the morning.

Remembering at the museum

As ANZAC Day approaches, we have been remembering all the things we experienced and learnt about last year when it was the 100th Anniversary of the landing of New Zealand and Australian soldiers at Gallipoli. Yesterday we visited Auckland War Memorial Museum with Room 9 as part of our learning. Although the Minecraft exhibition about Gallipoli had gone, we explored the trenches, equipment and weaponry the soldiers used and thought about the challenges they faced living and fighting in a foreign land.
